Mike Adhikari (U.S.)
Mike Adhikari is a principal of Overseas Connexions, Inc., that helps companies in India and US in establishing cross-border business relationships.
He is a Mergers & Acquisition advisor with 20+ years of experience, and a developer of a unique valuation software product. His firm, Illinois Corporate Investments, Inc., provides M&A services to mid-market companies up to $100 million in value. Mike is also the owner/developer of Business ValueXpress® (BVX®), a valuation and deal structuring software. BVX® corrects fundamental errors in today’s valuation methods. As a result it provides a high level of objectivity, which then permits interactive what-if analysis to business owners. Prior to M&A, Mike worked for a Fortune 500 company in graphic arts industry for 17 years in marketing, strategic planning, manufacturing and R&D.
Mike has MBA (Uni. of Chicago), MSEE (Cleveland), MSME (IIT- Chicago), BSME (Gujarat, India), and has CBI, CM&AA certifications. He is a board member of AMAA (Alliance of Mergers & Acquisition Advisors), past president and board member of MBBI (Midwest Business Brokers and Intermediaries Association), and a member of IBBA, IBA, ACG, FEI, and NACVA.
Mike teaches Mergers & Acquisitions (since 1994), as a guest speaker, in the Entrepreneurial Finance class of the MBA program at the Kellogg Business School of the Northwestern University. He also teaches transaction valuation as part of the CM&AA certification. In 2000, Wall Street Journal and U.S. Congress used Mike's valuation analysis to help reinstate the installment sales tax provision. Mike frequently speaks in national conference on topics related to M&A, valuation, and buying and selling businesses.
Nilaksh Shah (India)
With a background in Commerce and Chartered Accountancy, Nilaksh joined his father’s business in 1978, in India. And since then, he has been into trading, manufacturing, marketing products and services, and in import-export. But his vast experience in business is not limited to India alone. He is equally well versed with the American business scenario and culture, which accounts for the fact that he has efficiently carried out several business transactions between American and Indian companies, during the last 8 years. He is US-resident, who besides hopping between the two nations regularly, often sweeps in other countries from time to time.
A healthy dose of networking over the years has ensured that he has the right contacts in the right places… in the right businesses! In addition to all this running around, he also finds time to run a successful business that has completed over 180 projects in real estate development, interior decoration and industrial finishing contracting, for both corporate and industrial houses.
